PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland is kicking off the week under clear skies and unseasonably warm conditions, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 70s through Tuesday before rain makes a comeback later in the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Portland, high pressure will keep skies sunny and winds light through midweek. Monday and Tuesday are expected to be the warmest days, topping out near 77 degrees before clouds increase Wednesday evening. A weak front moves in Thursday, bringing a chance of rain that could linger into Friday and Saturday.

The stretch of dry, calm weather will give way to a more typical October pattern, with cooler air and scattered showers likely to end the week. Drivers should be cautious as slick roads develop during the first rainfall after several dry days.

By the weekend, daytime highs will drop back into the 60s, with overnight lows in the upper 40s. Additional rainfall is possible through Sunday.
