Oregon – Wet pavement glistens under gray skies this morning as temperatures hover near 36 degrees at PDX. A chilly breeze moves through downtown, and light rain mixes with snow in spots across the metro.

Snow levels sit near 400 feet early, meaning some neighborhoods in the West Hills could see flakes mixing in. Most valley locations will deal with rain and snow showers through midday. Highs climb to about 43 degrees later today.

While little accumulation is expected in central Portland, bursts of heavier showers could briefly coat grassy surfaces. Elevated roads and bridges remain the biggest concern. Drivers along I-5, I-84, and Highway 26 should watch for slick patches, especially during heavier showers.

Gusts may reach 20 mph this afternoon. That wind can push showers sideways and reduce visibility at times. Plan extra travel time and keep headlights on in steady rain.

Tonight, rain and snow showers continue, mainly after midnight, with lows near 34. Snow levels rise toward 600 feet, limiting widespread valley impacts. By Thursday, scattered rain and snow showers linger before tapering late. Highs reach the mid-40s.

Friday brings a slight chance of showers with highs near 45. Saturday trends wetter again, with rain likely and highs near 49. Sunday looks milder, pushing into the low 50s with steady rain at times.

Watch for brief flash freezing in outlying areas if temperatures dip near freezing after evening showers. Slushy spots can harden quickly on untreated surfaces.

Looking ahead, early next week stays wet but gradually warmer, with highs in the lower 50s. The 6- to 10-day outlook favors above-normal temperatures, hinting at early spring warmth building across northwest Oregon.

Five-Day Outlook for Portland, Oregon:
Today: High 43, rain/snow showers.
Thursday: High 45, scattered showers.
Friday: High 45, slight shower chance.
Saturday: High 49, rain likely.
Sunday: High 53, rain likely.
