GRAY, Maine – A significant winter storm will bring widespread snow and hazardous travel to Maine and New Hampshire beginning Tuesday morning around 9 a.m. and lasting until early Wednesday, with snowfall totals ranging from 4 to 12 inches across the region.

The heaviest snow is expected Tuesday afternoon and evening, when snowfall rates may exceed 1 inch per hour at times. Total accumulations will reach 8–12 inches in areas such as Manchester, Concord, Fryeburg, and Lebanon, while coastal and northern zones from Rockland to Jackman will see 4–8 inches, with some rain possibly mixing in along the southern Maine coast.
Snow will begin tapering from west to east between midnight and 3 a.m. Wednesday, with lingering flurries into daybreak. Road conditions will be treacherous throughout Tuesday, affecting both commutes.
