Portage, IN – Police responded to a shooting early this morning on Boulder Avenue. Around 4:30 a.m., officers were called to the 5300 block after shots were reportedly fired into a residence.
The police confirmed that several rounds were shot, though none penetrated the interior of the home. No injuries were reported. Authorities believe the incident was a targeted attack and not a random shooting.
According to the Portage Police Department, witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a lighter-colored, midsize crossover or SUV. The vehicle’s license plate was covered by an unidentified object. Detectives are actively pursuing leads and urge anyone with information to come forward.
