Pope County, AR – Arkansas State Police are asking for the public’s help after a deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of George Sanborn, 82, of Russellville. The crash occurred Saturday, November 15, 2025, between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. on State Highway 326 in the Happy Valley community near Gum Log, just north of Russellville.

According to investigators, the vehicle involved is believed to be a Chevrolet HHR, which may have sustained damage on the driver’s side. The color and model year of the vehicle remain unknown.

State Police said the driver fled the scene after striking Sanborn, who was walking along the highway.
