Medford, OR – A Freeze Warning and Air Stagnation Advisory remain in effect for the South Central Oregon Coast, including Coos Bay, Reedsport, and Bandon. The Freeze Warning is in place from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday, while the Air Stagnation Advisory will continue until noon Friday.
The National Weather Service forecasts sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28°F along the coast, with colder conditions inland. Stagnant air and an inversion are trapping pollutants near the surface, causing poor air quality in areas such as the Coquille Valley.
Residents should protect tender vegetation from frost and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure if sensitive to air pollution. People with respiratory issues are advised to follow their physician’s guidance. Drivers should exercise caution, as low visibility may impact road safety.
Conditions are expected to gradually improve by Friday afternoon. Stay updated through the National Weather Service or local emergency channels for further information and safety tips.
