Detroit, Michigan – A gradual warming trend will bring dry conditions into the weekend across southeast Michigan.

According to the US National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, partly to mostly sunny skies are expected Friday through Sunday, with temperatures steadily increasing each day.

Friday highs are forecast between 36 and 40 degrees, with overnight lows dipping to 14 to 18 degrees. Saturday will see highs ranging from 38 to 42 degrees and lows between 22 and 26 degrees. By Sunday, afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 42 to 46 degrees, with lows moderating into the mid- to upper-20s.

Communities including Detroit, Pontiac, Ann Arbor, Flint and Monroe are expected to remain dry throughout the period, with no precipitation in the forecast.

Major corridors such as Interstate 75, Interstate 94, Interstate 96, US Route 23 and Interstate 69 are anticipated to see dry pavement conditions, reducing the likelihood of travel disruptions. The warming trend may also assist with gradual melting of remaining snow and ice accumulations.

Forecasters emphasized that the pattern signals a steady moderation in temperatures heading into early next week, though readings will remain seasonable for mid-February.

The improving conditions may be especially noticeable for students, young workers and weekend travelers planning outdoor activities or commuting across the region.

No advisories or warnings were in effect as of Thursday morning.
