Clinton County, IN – An Ohio resident wanted for homicide was killed Friday morning following a police pursuit that ended in an officer-involved shooting in Indiana.
Indiana State Police (ISP) reported that the incident began around 9:30 a.m. when troopers identified a black Chevrolet Cruze connected to a Springfield, Ohio homicide investigation. The vehicle was traveling northbound on I-65 near the 149-mile marker. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, initiating a high-speed pursuit.
The chase continued for nearly 10 miles before ending on County Road 800 W, just south of State Road 28. Police say shots were exchanged between the suspect and officers. ISP SWAT officers later approached the vehicle and found the driver, identified as Terea Brown, 42, of Cincinnati, dead inside. A firearm was recovered from the vehicle.
Brown was wanted for questioning in a homicide investigation in Springfield, Ohio. No officers or bystanders were injured during the incident.
The case remains under investigation by ISP’s Criminal Investigation Division, with findings to be submitted to the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office. Ohio authorities are handling the homicide investigation.
