Nashville, TN – A 46-year-old woman was found dead inside her Hermitage Park Drive apartment Monday morning, and police say her boyfriend has been charged in connection with her death.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, detectives charged Jared Streich, 40, after an autopsy determined that Miranda Gray died from strangulation. Officers say Streich called 911 at about 9:30 a.m. Monday, reporting that Gray was unresponsive. When officers arrived, they noted multiple injuries on Gray and confirmed she had died.
Investigators reported that Streich was allegedly in violation of bond conditions stemming from a February aggravated assault case in which he was accused of threatening Gray with a knife. Police say he was required to stay away from her apartment as part of his release terms. He was arrested Monday night and his bond on the violation charge was set at $75,000.
Authorities said Streich had been arrested several times this year on domestic violence-related charges involving Gray. Records show he was arrested in April and July on charges of aggravated assault and bond violations, including an incident where he allegedly cut Gray’s wrist with a knife. His bonds in those cases ranged from $2,500 to $85,000, but some charges were later dropped in General Sessions Court.
Police records also indicate Gray spoke with a Domestic Violence detective earlier this year about seeking an order of protection and counseling but ultimately declined services.
Streich remains in custody as the investigation into Gray’s death continues. He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
