Police in Pennsylvania Arrest Man in Alleged Assault of 12-Year-Old in Allegheny County

Allegheny, PA – Allegheny County police on Wednesday charged an East Deer Township man with sexually assaulting a minor. 

Police said the assault occurred at 10:05 p.m. July 28 on a walking trail near the Allegheny River. Detectives with the county police General Investigations Unit said the 12-year-old victim was walking the trail with another young girl when they encountered a group along the riverbank. 

According to police, 40-year-old Brian Ball allegedly approached the girls, offered them marijuana, and assaulted the 12-year-old multiple times along the trail. 

Authorities monitored the trail and interviewed witnesses following the incident. Detectives later identified Ball as the suspect. 

Ball faces charges of indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, indecent exposure, and unlawful contact with a minor. He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting trial.
