Poland, Maine – A two-vehicle crash on Route 26 injured three people Monday morning, prompting a temporary road closure.
According to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7:50 a.m. to the 1300 block of Maine Street in Poland for a reported head-on collision with injuries. Poland Fire-Rescue assisted at the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates Graeme Kaplan, 18, of Cumberland Center, was allegedly operating a 2025 Dodge Durango southbound when the vehicle crossed the double yellow centerlines and collided head-on with a northbound 2016 Subaru Outback driven by Rebecca Woodbury, 47, of Raymond.
Kaplan, Woodbury, and a 16-year-old male passenger in the Durango were transported to Central Maine Medical Center. Authorities said the injuries were serious but not considered life-threatening.
Maine Street was closed for just over one hour as emergency crews investigated and cleared the crash site. Additional assistance was provided by the Mechanic Falls Police Department and Oxford Fire-Rescue.
The crash remains under investigation. No further information has been released.
The morning closure affected Route 26 commuters traveling through the Poland corridor during peak school and work hours.
