Pokagon Township, MI – A two-vehicle crash in Pokagon Township on Friday sent one person to the hospital with injuries.

Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reported that the collision occurred around 12:29 p.m. near Pokagon Highway and M-51. A 75-year-old South Bend resident, Patrick William Dvorak, allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling eastbound on Pokagon Highway. His vehicle collided with a southbound car driven by 44-year-old South Bend resident David Ralph Gregory.

Authorities stated that Gregory sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to Corewell Niles Hospital for treatment. Dvorak was not injured in the crash.

Both drivers wore seat belts at the time of the collision. Officials confirmed that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash.

The Pokagon Fire Department and SMCAS Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
