Plainfield, IL – Traffic Disruption on Route 126 Due to Railroad Closure

Plainfield, IL – According to the Plainfield Police Department, a significant traffic alert was issued early Thursday morning for Route 126 in Plainfield, Illinois. The road is currently closed at the railroad tracks, located just east of Route 59. 

This closure, effective from just before 9 a.m., has led to major delays and congestion in the surrounding area. Motorists are advised to avoid Route 126 until it reopens and to seek alternative routes for their morning commute. 

The cause of the closure and the estimated time for reopening have not been disclosed yet. Local authorities are working to manage the traffic and address the situation promptly.
