Pittsburgh, PA – Residents across Western Pennsylvania can expect a calm, sunny start to the week before rain chances return by midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.

The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies Monday and Tuesday, with highs ranging from the upper 50s to low 60s. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop into the lower to mid-30s under mostly clear skies. The stretch of dry, seasonable weather marks one of the last extended sunny periods before November’s colder pattern settles in.

Forecasters say the weather pattern will begin to shift by Wednesday, when clouds increase and rain chances rise through Friday. Daytime temperatures will remain near seasonal averages for late October, but conditions are expected to turn breezier and wetter as a frontal system moves through the Ohio Valley.

No major weather hazards are expected early in the week, though cooler nighttime lows could lead to patchy frost in some valleys and rural areas.
