Pittsburgh, PA – The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Frost Advisory for portions of eastern Ohio late Thursday night into early Friday as temperatures are forecast to fall into the low 30s under clearing skies.
The advisory, in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, covers areas including Zanesville, Cambridge, and New Martinsville, where the highest frost potential is expected. Forecasters note that reduced cloud cover overnight will allow for more rapid cooling, increasing the risk of frost formation.
Residents in the advisory area are urged to bring plants indoors or cover sensitive vegetation to prevent damage. The NWS also cautioned that similar chilly conditions may repeat over the next several nights.
Temperatures around the Pittsburgh metro are expected to hover between 36 and 39 degrees, staying just above frost criteria, though rural valleys could still see patchy frost. Warmer conditions are forecast to return by the weekend.
