Pittsburgh, PA – Halloween plans across western Pennsylvania may get dampened as steady morning rain transitions into scattered evening showers just in time for trick-or-treating.

According to the US National Weather Service Pittsburgh, widespread rainfall early Thursday will become intermittent by afternoon, before another round of rain arrives tonight. The timing coincides with many communities’ Halloween activities, prompting forecasters to highlight the likelihood of wet conditions through the evening.

Hourly rain probabilities show a 50–90% chance of rain between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. across Pittsburgh, Washington, and Morgantown, while northern areas such as DuBois and Franklin may see rain chances drop below 50% by 7 p.m.

Rainfall amounts are expected to remain light to moderate, but damp roads and occasional downpours could make evening travel and outdoor events messy. Conditions are forecast to improve overnight into Friday morning as the system moves east.

Parents and trick-or-treaters are encouraged to pack ponchos or umbrellas and allow for extra drying time after festivities.
