Pittsburgh, PA – Rain chances are set to rise late Friday as a low-pressure system tracks across the Great Lakes and the Ohio River Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh. Forecasters say the system will bring light to moderate rainfall across western Pennsylvania and neighboring areas beginning Friday evening and lasting into early Saturday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorm chances remain low, with most areas expected to see steady rain rather than severe weather. Rainfall totals are projected to range from a quarter inch to half an inch. The highest probabilities of precipitation will occur late Friday night, with values exceeding 80% across cities like Pittsburgh, Wheeling, and Morgantown.
The passing system should move eastward by early Saturday, allowing for gradual clearing through the day. Temperatures are forecast to stay mild, with daytime highs in the upper 50s to near 60°F and overnight lows in the mid-40s.
Motorists and commuters should plan for wet roads and reduced visibility late Friday and early Saturday morning.
