Pittsburgh, PA –
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 10 a.m. Thursday across much of western Pennsylvania and parts of northern West Virginia, where snow continues to create hazardous travel conditions and low visibility overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, snow totals will range from 2 to 5 inches across Mercer, Venango, Clarion, Jefferson, and Forest Counties, with heavier accumulations of 3 to 5 inches possible at higher elevations in Westmoreland, Fayette, Indiana, Preston, and Tucker Counties.

Forecasters warn that slippery roads and blowing snow will make driving dangerous through Thursday morning, particularly on untreated roadways, bridges, and higher terrain routes. Wind gusts up to 35 mph may also cause localized drifting.

Residents are urged to slow down and allow extra time for the morning commute. Road condition updates are available via 511PA and 511WV.

The snow is expected to taper off by mid-morning Thursday as temperatures remain below freezing, keeping icy patches into the afternoon.
