Pike County, AL Traffic Alert: Alabama 167 Shut Down After Crash

Troy, AL – A two-vehicle crash shut down Alabama 167 near the 49-mile marker in Pike County early Saturday morning, creating traffic delays for drivers in the Troy area.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the collision occurred at approximately 5:26 a.m. on Sept. 20. Troopers reported that Alabama 167 remains closed at the crash site and will stay shut down for an undetermined amount of time as the investigation continues.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene working to determine the cause of the crash. No information has been released yet on possible injuries or how long the closure is expected to last.

Drivers traveling in southern Pike County, including those commuting between Troy and the Coffee County line, should plan alternate routes until the highway is reopened.

Authorities urge motorists to stay alert for detours and updates throughout the morning. ALEA stated they will continue to provide information as it becomes available.
