Pierce County, WA – Deputies in Pierce County are investigating a double homicide after a man and woman were found dead inside a home late Tuesday night, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, the call came in around 10:41 p.m. on October 9 for reports of a male victim who had been shot. Neighbors told investigators they heard several gunshots, but no one answered the door when deputies arrived.
Deputies forced entry into the residence and located a 57-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman deceased inside. A 14-year-old girl was found alive, hiding in a bedroom closet, and was later released to family members.
Authorities emphasized that the teen was not involved in the incident. “The preliminary investigation indicates we don’t believe there are any outstanding suspects, and the incident is contained to the home,” the department said in a social media post.
The Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the victims’ names, and detectives continue to investigate what led to the shooting.
