According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, storms will intensify after 11 a.m. Friday, with some cells producing damaging winds up to 50 mph. Areas across Maricopa County, including Phoenix, Glendale, and Scottsdale, could see ponding on roads and dangerous driving conditions during the evening commute.
Friday night will bring lingering showers and storms before conditions gradually ease into Saturday morning. Another round of scattered thunderstorms is possible Saturday, though activity should taper by evening.
