Phoenix, AZ – Triple-digit heat will rapidly intensify across the Valley by 11 a.m. Thursday, creating a major heat risk that could overwhelm outdoor workers and strain daily routines through Sunday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, an Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday until 8 p.m. Sunday for the Phoenix metro area, including Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, and Glendale. Afternoon highs will climb between 100 and 108°F, with even hotter pockets reaching 109°F across southwest Arizona, including Yuma and the Imperial Valley near the California border.

In central Phoenix and along the I-10 corridor through Tempe and Avondale, pavement temperatures will spike خلال the afternoon commute, increasing risks for heat exhaustion between noon and 7 p.m. Communities like Apache Junction, Fountain Hills, and Cave Creek will also see prolonged exposure risk, especially Friday and Saturday when peak heat settles in.

The extreme heat will persist through 8 p.m. Sunday, with additional alerts possible if elevated temperatures continue into early next week.
