Phoenix, AZ – Lingering rain showers across central and eastern Arizona will gradually come to an end today, with activity winding down first in the Phoenix Metro. The National Weather Service in Phoenix reports that rain is expected to end by mid-morning in the Valley, while eastern Arizona should see showers taper off by late afternoon.

Forecasters say rainfall amounts will generally be light, adding 0.00–0.25 inches, though locally higher totals are possible—especially in showers developing over higher terrain near Globe, Heber, Payson, and the Mogollon Rim. A few isolated thunderstorms may also occur, though widespread severe weather is not expected.

Impacts remain minor, but wet roads and ponding in low-lying areas could create slippery travel early today. Motorists should allow extra time during the morning commute and watch for areas of reduced visibility due to lingering drizzle.

Conditions will continue improving through the afternoon as skies gradually begin to dry out across central and eastern Arizona.
