Phoenix, AZ – Phoenix will endure another scorching weekend with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, but relief is on the horizon next week. Highs will reach 104°F on Saturday, potentially breaking records before cooling by mid-week.
According to the National Weather Service, Phoenix will see temperatures drop from 103°F on Sunday to 96°F by Wednesday. The area could tie heat records on Saturday and Sunday, but the chance of record-breaking temperatures decreases by Monday. A significant cooling trend will begin Tuesday, with highs dropping to the low 90s by Thursday.
Other Arizona cities, such as Globe and Yuma, will follow a similar pattern. Globe will see highs fall from 94°F to 85°F, and Yuma will see a decrease from 103°F to 91°F by Thursday.
Meteorologists expect the cooler weather to bring relief from the heat risks that have plagued the region. After the weekend, residents can look forward to milder conditions and a return to more typical fall temperatures.
