PHOENIX, Ariz. – Triple-digit heat will grip much of Arizona through midweek, with Phoenix climbing as high as 105 degrees on Tuesday before a late-week cool-down arrives. While the desert metro will stay dry, isolated storms could flare today across the Kofa Mountains in northern Yuma and into central La Paz County.
According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, the chance of rain across the Valley remains under 5%, with noticeably drier air settling in regionwide this week. Yuma will hover near 110 degrees through Tuesday, while El Centro and Globe also stay several degrees above their daily averages.
The agency warns of a moderate heat risk for metro Phoenix through at least Wednesday. Residents are urged to limit time outdoors during the afternoon, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Highs will remain near seasonal levels until Wednesday before dropping by Thursday as a low-pressure system pushes in from the west.
Temperatures are expected to fall below normal by the end of the week, offering the first real break from summer heat in weeks.
