Phoenix, Ariz. – Clouds and light showers kept much of central Arizona warmer than normal Monday morning, with low temperatures holding near 80 degrees in Phoenix and staying in the mid-70s to low 80s across the Valley.
According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, showers will linger into the day, only gradually clearing as skies turn partly sunny. Afternoon highs are expected to climb into the low to mid-90s across the metro area, several degrees above seasonal averages.
Scottsdale, Mesa, and Glendale all started the morning in the upper 70s, while Gila Bend registered the region’s warmest low at 81 degrees. Slightly cooler readings were reported in Yuma and El Centro, where lows dipped into the mid-70s.
Drivers should be cautious on slick roads early in the day, particularly in areas that picked up overnight showers. With humidity remaining elevated, residents are encouraged to stay hydrated as temperatures climb into the 90s.
NWS forecasters say clearing will continue into Monday evening, with drier conditions expected to dominate into midweek.
No additional advisories have been issued, but updates will follow if storm chances redevelop later this week.
