Phoenix, Arizona — Above-normal temperatures and dry conditions will continue across Phoenix through midweek before a weather system brings cooler air late this week into the weekend.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Phoenix, high temperatures in Phoenix are expected to reach the mid-70s Tuesday through Thursday, with forecast highs around 75°F Tuesday, 73°F Wednesday, and 74°F Thursday. These readings remain above normal for late January.
A change in the pattern is expected beginning Friday, as a weather system moves into the Desert Southwest. Forecast highs in Phoenix are expected to cool to around 70°F Friday, dipping further to near 69°F Saturday, before hovering close to 70°F Sunday.
While Phoenix is expected to remain mostly dry, the National Weather Service says rain chances will increase across portions of central and eastern Arizona, particularly as the system moves through late week into the weekend. Temperatures across the broader region are expected to settle into a more seasonable range.
Forecasters describe current conditions as tranquil but caution that unsettled weather late week could impact outdoor plans, especially outside the Phoenix metro area.
Residents are encouraged to monitor forecast updates as timing and rain coverage become clearer over the coming days.
The temperature shift may be noticeable for commuters and outdoor workers accustomed to the recent warmer afternoons.
