Arizona – The desert air is already warming fast, and a dangerous heat surge is set to intensify across Phoenix within hours. Pavement heats quickly under clear skies, and by Thursday afternoon, temperatures will push past 104°F. This is not typical early spring warmth—it’s a rapid shift into extreme heat.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, an Extreme Heat Warning takes effect at 11 a.m. Thursday and continues through Sunday evening. Afternoon highs will range from 100°F to 107°F across the metro, including Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, and Glendale. This level of heat significantly increases the risk of heat-related illness.

Today still offers a brief window before peak heat arrives. Highs reach near 100°F under sunny skies, with light winds offering little relief. By Thursday, the heat intensifies quickly, and by Friday, temperatures climb to 106°F. Outdoor surfaces, including roads along I-10 and I-17, will become dangerously hot by mid-afternoon.

The weekend brings no relief. Highs stay near 105°F Saturday and remain above 100°F into Sunday. Overnight lows only fall into the upper 60s and low 70s, limiting recovery time for the body.

Limit outdoor activity during peak hours between noon and 6 p.m. Hydrate लगातार and check on vulnerable neighbors. Never leave children or pets in vehicles, even briefly.

This early-season heatwave reflects a broader warming trend expanding across the Southwest. Additional alerts may follow if conditions persist into next week.
