Philadelphia, PA – Strong winds are set to impact Philadelphia today, with gusts reaching 50 mph, creating hazardous conditions for drivers and pedestrians. Residents should prepare for possible power outages and falling tree limbs as the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory in effect from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ, west winds will blow 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph. High-profile vehicles, including trucks and buses, are especially at risk on elevated roadways and bridges. Unsecured objects may be blown away, and tree limbs could break, potentially causing minor structural damage.

Philadelphia will see partly sunny skies today with a high of 49°F, but strong winds will persist. Tonight, temperatures will drop to 24°F with blustery conditions continuing.

Looking ahead, Thursday will be sunny with a high of 39°F, followed by increasing clouds Thursday night with a chance of rain. Rain and snow are likely Friday as temperatures hover in the mid-30s.
