Philadelphia, PA – The National Weather Service in Mount Holly says residents across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware should expect two rounds of rain this weekend before a strong cold front ushers in much colder air Sunday night.
Rain will develop late Friday night into early Saturday morning, tapering off after sunrise. Saturday will remain mild, with highs in the 60s and partly cloudy skies during the afternoon.
A second system will move in Sunday, bringing another period of rain and breezy conditions before the cold front pushes through Sunday night, dropping temperatures sharply by Monday morning. Highs on Monday will only reach the 40s across much of the region — a drop of more than 20 degrees from the weekend warmth.
Forecasters note that the cooler pattern will persist into early next week, with overnight lows in the 20s and 30s and daytime highs staying below seasonal averages.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for colder commutes Monday and have rain gear ready for the weekend’s passing showers.
