PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – After several dry days across eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, a steady, beneficial rain is on the way Tuesday night into Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly says there is high confidence in widespread rainfall, with some areas picking up more than an inch, especially around the Philadelphia metro and Delaware Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely to develop after sunset Tuesday and continue into early Wednesday. Rainfall probabilities exceed 70% for much of southeastern Pennsylvania, northern Delaware, and southern New Jersey. The agency emphasized that no flooding is expected, as soils remain dry from a recent stretch of mild, dry weather.

The rain should taper off by Wednesday evening, giving way to clearer skies and cooler, comfortable air by Thursday. Commuters may face wet roads during the Wednesday morning rush, but visibility and travel conditions should improve by midday.

Residents are encouraged to check windshield wipers and allow extra time for morning travel. No severe weather is anticipated, and the rainfall is expected to help ease minor drought conditions that have developed over the past two weeks.
