Philadelphia, PA – Clouds will dominate much of the region Tuesday, with hazy skies and pockets of showers possible along the I-80 corridor, bringing minor disruptions to travel and outdoor plans.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, isolated afternoon showers are expected from the Poconos to northern New Jersey, while wildfire smoke from Canada continues to cause reduced visibility and hazy conditions across eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and southern New Jersey. A moderate risk of dangerous rip currents is also in effect for the Jersey Shore and Delaware Beaches through Tuesday evening.
Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s across much of the area, including Trenton, Morristown, Allentown, and Philadelphia, with slightly cooler temps along the coast—only 77°F at Bethany Beach and 80°F in Long Branch. Visibility may be reduced in some spots, especially during peak afternoon hours.
Beachgoers are urged to swim near lifeguards and avoid rough surf. Drivers in northern areas should remain alert for passing showers, particularly from Mount Pocono to Sussex.
Haze and rip current threats could persist into Wednesday depending on smoke movement and onshore winds.
