Philadelphia, PA – Showers and thunderstorms with heavy downpours are set to bring the potential for localized flooding in Philadelphia in two distinct rounds this week. Round one will hit late Tuesday afternoon into early Wednesday morning, while round two is expected from Friday into Saturday.

According to the US National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly, the initial storm wave will bring heavy rainfall, potentially causing flash floods and road closures. Temperatures in the city are also anticipated to rise significantly, with highs reaching into the 90s.

The forecast for today includes a high of 87°F with a 45% chance of rain. Wednesday will see clearer skies with temperatures peaking at 91°F. However, the respite will be short-lived as Thursday is predicted to be even hotter, with temperatures soaring to 94°F. By Friday, another round of storms will commence, accompanied by a high of 93°F. The storm activity is expected to continue into Saturday, which will see temperatures around 91°F.

The weather will slightly improve by Sunday with temperatures dropping to 88°F, although there remains a 40% chance of rain. Early next week, Monday will see a high of 88°F with clearer skies expected throughout the day.
