Philadelphia, PA – The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Frost Advisory for parts of southeastern Pennsylvania, remaining in effect until 9 a.m. EDT Friday.
Forecasters report that temperatures as low as 33 degrees are leading to widespread frost formation this morning, particularly in areas away from urban centers. The advisory includes Berks, Chester, Montgomery, and Lower Bucks Counties, where cold air is settling into valleys and open spaces.
According to meteorologists, the frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Residents in communities such as Reading, Norristown, West Chester, Doylestown, and Oxford are urged to bring plants indoors or cover them with light blankets or sheets until temperatures rise after sunrise.
The advisory is expected to expire by 9 a.m., when sunshine and light winds help temperatures recover into the mid-40s. This event marks one of the season’s earliest frost occurrences across the Philadelphia suburbs.
Gardeners and homeowners are encouraged to take precautions each night this weekend, as similar conditions may return under clear skies and calm winds.
