Philadelphia, PA – Residents across the Delaware Valley will see warm, dry weather today, but clouds are expected to build as a midweek storm system approaches.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, high temperatures Monday will reach the upper 70s to low 80s across much of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, with Trenton forecast at 82 degrees, Philadelphia at 82, and Atlantic City at 76. Increasing clouds will signal a change ahead.

Rain chances rise late Monday night into Tuesday, with the heaviest precipitation expected Tuesday night into Wednesday. Forecasters say the best chances for rain—up to 90%—will be across southern New Jersey and the Delmarva region, particularly along and southeast of I-95. Some embedded thunder is possible, though severe weather is not anticipated.

The system is expected to bring beneficial rainfall following recent dry weather, with totals varying widely depending on location. Areas north and west of Philadelphia, including Allentown and Reading, face significantly lower rain chances, generally 30–40%.

Beachgoers should take note: the National Weather Service warns of a high risk for rip currents along the New Jersey and Delaware coasts from Tuesday through Wednesday. Breezy onshore winds may enhance surf hazards during this period.

Rain is forecast to taper off by Wednesday evening, with conditions improving later in the week.
