Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – A warm and sunny Thursday will give way to a rainy stretch beginning Friday afternoon and continuing into Saturday night.

According to the National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly, total rainfall of 0.5 to 1.5 inches is expected across the region from Friday through Saturday night. Rain may begin as early as Friday afternoon or evening, following a mostly dry and cloudy start to the day.

Forecasters say Thursday will feature improving conditions, with morning clouds giving way to sunshine and highs in the mid-40s to low-50s. By Friday, clouds increase again, with highs reaching the upper 40s to low 60s before rain develops later in the day.

Saturday is expected to be rainy, with temperatures remaining in the upper 40s to low 60s. The rain tapers off Saturday night, though lingering clouds are expected.

By Sunday, conditions turn cooler and breezier, with mostly cloudy skies and the chance for a stray shower, but widespread rain is not anticipated.

Drivers should plan for wet roads during peak travel periods Friday evening and Saturday, especially as steadier rain moves through the area.

For weekend plans, umbrellas will likely be needed, particularly Saturday, before drier but cooler weather returns Sunday.
