Mount Holly, NJ – After a stretch of dry weather, much-needed rainfall is on the way for the Mid-Atlantic region, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
Rain will move in Wednesday night and continue through Thursday, with widespread totals of 1.5 to 3 inches expected by Friday morning. The heaviest amounts are likely across northern and central New Jersey — including areas near Morristown, Sussex, and Flemington — where localized totals could approach 3 inches.
The system is forecast to bring steady, soaking rain beneficial for parched soils, though minor flooding in low-lying or poorly drained areas cannot be ruled out.
Rainfall should taper off late Thursday, followed by cooler and breezy conditions heading into the weekend.
