Philadelphia, PA – Parts of South Jersey and Delaware could see spotty tidal flooding late Saturday as scattered rain showers drift across the region under mild overnight conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, areas south of Philadelphia have a 30% to 40% chance of rain through Saturday night, with the highest risk concentrated near coastal towns like Cape May, Dover, and Bethany Beach. Low-lying areas along the Delaware Bay are especially vulnerable to minor tidal flooding during high tide cycles.

Rainfall totals are expected to remain light, but saturated ground and rising tides may briefly impact roadways and low-lying neighborhoods. Residents in flood-prone zones are urged to monitor local alerts, avoid driving through flooded streets, and secure outdoor belongings.

Temperatures will remain unseasonably mild overnight, with lows ranging from the upper 50s in Allentown and Trenton to around 60°F in Philadelphia, Dover, and Atlantic City. Winds will stay light, limiting additional coastal erosion concerns.

This is not a widespread flooding event, but NWS officials note that similar tidal surges can still disrupt travel or damage property in vulnerable coastal pockets. Updates will continue if conditions worsen.
