Pewaukee, WI – A four-vehicle crash shut down a major stretch of Interstate 94 in Waukesha County late Monday afternoon, sending four people to local hospitals, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2025, near Pewaukee Road (Highway 164) in the City of Pewaukee. Authorities say eastbound I-94 was fully closed at the Highway 16 interchange while emergency crews responded to the scene.
According to the sheriff’s office, all eastbound lanes were reopened by approximately 6:30 p.m. after tow operations and debris clearance were completed. The City of Waukesha Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and local fire departments from Waukesha and Pewaukee assisted at the scene.
Officials confirmed that four occupants from the involved vehicles were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Drivers traveling through the corridor experienced significant delays during the evening commute.
