Peoria Traffic Accident: Man Extricated with Jaws of Life, Hospitalized

Peoria, IL – A two-vehicle collision in Peoria early Sunday morning resulted in severe injuries for a 23-year-old man. The accident occurred around 12:52 a.m. on the 1200 block of N. Ellis Street, prompting a rapid response from Peoria Police and Firefighters.

When officers and emergency crews arrived, they found two vehicles severely damaged after colliding with each other. A 23-year-old male passenger in one of the vehicles was partially ejected and trapped inside. Emergency personnel used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate the man, who sustained life-threatening injuries. He was immediately transported to a local hospital.

According to Peoria Police, the occupants of both vehicles were also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause of the crash.
