Peoria, IL – A 32-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the wrist during an early morning incident in Peoria on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
According to the Peoria Police Department, officers were first dispatched around 6:07 a.m. to the 800 block of South Western Avenue after a ShotSpotter system detected two rounds fired. Officers searched the area but did not locate any victims at that time.
Shortly afterward, police were called to the 3000 block of West Malone Avenue, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his wrist. Authorities said he was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As of Tuesday morning, no suspect information has been released. Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
