Peoria, IL – A 16-year-old boy was shot Tuesday evening in Peoria on the 2700 block of W. Wyoming Avenue. Police responded at 7:33 p.m. to reports of a shooting. Officers found the teen in an alley with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Peoria Police’s Special Investigations Division (SID), Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit immediately launched an investigation.
Detectives quickly identified a 15-year-old male suspect. The juvenile suspect turned himself in on Wednesday and was arrested. He faces alleged charges of attempted murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID, and possession of a handgun under 21.
The suspect is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC). According to police, the investigation remains active, and anyone with information is urged to contact Peoria Police or Crime Stoppers.
