Springfield, Ill. – Central Illinois will enjoy a stretch of mild late-summer weather this week as cool nights and mostly sunny afternoons settle in across the region. Highs will stay in the 70s while overnight lows dip into the upper 40s and 50s, keeping conditions comfortable for both daytime activities and evening events.
According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, skies will remain clear and dry through at least Thursday. Monday and Tuesday are expected to be mostly sunny, with highs near 75 degrees in Springfield, Peoria, and Decatur. Overnight lows will fall to the low 50s Monday night and even into the upper 40s by early Tuesday morning.
By Wednesday, clouds will increase slightly, but rain chances remain near zero. Temperatures will stay steady in the mid-70s with another cool night in the lower 50s. Thursday will bring partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 70s, continuing the trend of pleasant weather across much of the state.
Travelers should find favorable driving conditions, and outdoor events across central Illinois can proceed without weather concerns. The next chance of showers appears limited and may hold off until late week or the weekend.
