According to the Peoria Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:47 p.m. to the intersection of East Frye Avenue and North Wisconsin Avenue for reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they located the man lying on the sidewalk. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Police said a short time later, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description near Nebraska Avenue and Peoria Avenue. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Kayana M. Polk.
