Peoria, IL Traffic Stop Leads To Foot Chase And Arrest On Millman Road

Peoria, Illinois – A routine traffic stop early Thursday escalated into a foot pursuit, ending with an arrest and multiple charges in north Peoria.

According to the Peoria Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop at approximately 3:01 a.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of West Millman Road. As officers approached the vehicle, the driver allegedly exited and fled on foot.

Police said officers briefly pursued the suspect before apprehending him in the 1500 block of West Kettelle Street. The individual was identified as 24-year-old Evan L. Brown.

During a search following the arrest, officers allegedly located a bag of cannabis on Brown’s person. Police said Brown was taken into custody for obstruction, unlawful possession of cannabis, traffic violations, and an active warrant.

After the arrest, Brown was transported to the Peoria County Jail, according to police. No injuries were reported in connection with the pursuit.

The incident was logged as PPD Incident #26-918, and police emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.
