Peoria, IL – A 22-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot in the head Sunday afternoon while riding a bicycle on Peoria’s West Side.
According to the Peoria Police Department, officers responded around 1:24 p.m. on October 12 to the 2300 block of W. Antoinette Street after a ShotSpotter alert detected roughly 15 rounds fired. When officers arrived, they found the man on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head and immediately began life-saving measures. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Inside the home, police say they found several firearms, one of which had been reported stolen. Three male juveniles—two 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old—were taken into custody.
According to police, the teens were arrested for Possession of a Weapon Under 21, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. They were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
