During the investigation, officers used license plate reader technology to identify a suspect vehicle at the intersection of North University Street and West War Memorial Drive. Authorities conducted a traffic stop and ordered two occupants to exit the vehicle without incident.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly led to the discovery of a loaded firearm with an extended magazine.
Police arrested 25-year-old Natrell N. Hogan-Pierce. According to authorities, he was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon. Hogan-Pierce was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
