Peoria, IL: Juveniles Arrested After Armed Robbery at McDonald’s

Peoria, IL – Two juveniles were apprehended by Peoria Police on Wednesday following an armed robbery at a McDonald’s located in the 2200 block of N. Knoxville Avenue. The incident occurred around 9:51 a.m., when officers were dispatched in response to a report of an armed robbery involving a shotgun.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers conducted an immediate search of the area and spotted two male juveniles, ages 14 and 15, fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported during the robbery. According to the Peoria Police Department, officers pursued the suspects, eventually apprehending one in the 700 block of E. Nebraska and the second in the 600 block of E. Republic. One of the juveniles was found carrying an undisclosed amount of currency in a backpack.

During their investigation, officers also recovered a discarded shotgun in the 1900 block of N. Indiana. Both juveniles were taken into custody and are facing multiple charges, including Armed Robbery, Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Trespass to a Residence, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, and Resisting Police.

The suspects were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center. Peoria Police urge anyone with information related to this or any other violent crime to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
