According to Peoria Police, officers were dispatched around 11:25 p.m. on November 22 to the 3400 block of West Oakhurst Drive following reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive 17-year-old male inside an apartment. He had multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
A second victim, identified as a 21-year-old male, was found in a nearby apartment suffering from gunshot wounds to the legs. He was taken to a hospital where his condition is described as stable.
Authorities say multiple specialized units, including SWAT, detectives, and crime scene investigators, responded to the scene. Two court-authorized search warrants were executed, and evidence tied to the shooting was recovered.
