Peoria, IL – Early Tuesday, a 31-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the 2500 block of W. Garden. Peoria Police were dispatched around 3:39 a.m. after Shot Spotter alerts indicated two separate incidents of gunfire, with a total of 20 rounds fired.
According to the Peoria Police Department, officers arrived to find the victim lying in the road. Despite immediate life-saving measures, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His identity and the exact cause of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
Members of the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded promptly, initiating a thorough investigation. At this time, no suspect information has been released, and the incident remains under active investigation.
